EVENTS: DLSU HTG’s 48th Season Lineup

DLSU Harlequin Theatre Guild (DLSU HTG) is the resident theater group of De La Salle University, founded around 1966, which aims to raise social consciousness and expression. The guild is a shining example of dedication to its craft and commitment to the rigors theatrical discipline.

Now on its 48th season, DLSU HTG is opening with “DuLa Salle 2k14: Juan Day”. This production will showcase the talents of new members, featuring seven short stories written and directed by various student-artists of DLSU HTG from the Manila and STC campuses. It will produce experimental and advocacy plays with a surrealist perspective with regards to climate change. “DuLa Salle 2k14: Juan Day” will run on August 7 to 8, 2014 for DLSU-STC (Milagros R. del Rosario Auditorium) and August 14 to 16, 2014 for DLSU-Manila (William Shaw Little Theatre).1-2 DuLa Salle 2K14 Juan Day

CADs is the sole dance group accredited by the Office of Students Affairs of the Ateneo de Manila University. Established in 1993 by a group of Ateneans who “just wanted to dance,” the company has grown both in membership (with over a 100 members) and artistic scope throughout the years. AT THE CENTER The “center” is where all dancers aspire to be placed because it is where the eyes of the crowd are drawn. The Hip Hop International Competition (HHI) is one of the most prestigious competitions one could be a part of and is often considered the center of the Hip Hop world. 255545_481046051914355_2051987256_n
Year after year, thousands of dancers and hundreds of teams from across the globe fly to Las Vegas in the hope of bagging the title “best in the world” for their respective divisions. I was lucky enough to represent my country in this elite competition not only once, but twice, and I can honestly say that being a part of this competition is by far the best experience of my entire life.

Time is running out for you to find “The Missing Peace”

Carlo Vergara’s entry for this year’s Virgin Labfest, “The Missing Peace” is selling out quickly.

From Carl’s FB:

“According to the Ticketworld website, the July 5, 8pm show of the Virgin Labfest (Set B, where “The Missing Peace” is included) is SOLD OUT. There are a few tickets remaining for the July 6, 3pm show, but there’s still a good number left for the June 26, 3 and 8pm shows. (with Marlon Rivera)

As for “Kung Paano Ako Naging Leading Lady” and the other Revisited plays, tickets are still available for all dates. The June 29, 3pm slot is almost sold out, but ticket availability is still good for the June 29, 8pm; July 3, 8pm; and July 4, 3pm slots.”

It would be a good idea to try to get tickets for “The Missing Peace” and also “Kung Paano Ako Naging Leading Lady” which was Carl’s entry last year that was also adapted into a comic by Visprint.
